20.3.2008 | PQ in the Americas

PQ will be presented in the main theatre events in both Americas.

In the early Spring, the Prague Quadrennial will be introduced in North and South America.

The PQ in Photos exhibit begins its US tour at the 48th annual USITT Conference and Stage Expo from March 19th to the 22nd in Houston. Part of the exhibit presentation will include a DVD projection of the history of the PQ. The USITT programme will also feature a series of discussions focusing on previous editions of the PQ, a presentation by the representatives from the winning Russian national exhibit as well as other Gold Medal winners. The exhibition will then continue to Washington, where it can be seen at the Katzen Centre – American University Museum from April 1st to May 18th. The exhibition is presented in the USA in cooperation with the Czech Embassy in Washington.

The PQ in Photos exhibition is currently on display at the Czech Centre in Moscow until mid-March, but can also be seen until April 20th at the Palacio de Bellas Artes in Mexico City. The exhibit is also being planned for a tour through the Scandinavian countries in May and June.

A presentation of the PQ will also take place in Bogota, Columbia during one of the largest international theatre festivals: Festival Iberoamericano de Teatro – the Bogota International Theater Festival (FITB). The aim of the PQ presentation in Latin America is to increase the awareness of the unique exhibition and increase the number of artists and theatres from these countries who will participate during the next PQ in 2011.

The Arts Institute – Theatre Institute created the PQ in Photos exhibit of 30 photographs taken during the Prague Quadrennial 2007, providing an excellent recollection of the 11th annual edition of the world’s largest exhibition of theatre design that took place in Prague in June 2007.
